     Course Objectives:

1. Develop an Understanding of the uses of Microsoft Office in Education
2. Integrating the Internet in Curriculum
3. Understanding and Review of Educational Software

     Methods of Student Evaluation:

15 Points     Develop a 12 slide PowerPoint Presentation

25 Points     Develop a "Top 20" Internet site listings in your discipline

25 Points     Class Participation

20 Points     Sending and receiving e-mail

15 Points     Software Review

     Explanation of Assignments:

E-mail Exercise - Demonstrate your competency of e-mail by sending an e-mail with a Microsoft Word attachment. In the Word attachment provide a short introduction to yourself (where you work, what you do, what your educational goal is, what your career goal is, and your computer experience).  This assignment is due June 9.

Top 20 Internet Sites - Develop a listing of the BEST Internet sites for curriculum in the discipline you will be teaching (art, language arts, science, math, social studies, etc.)  The assignment should be typed in Microsoft Word and sent electronically as an attachment to Ldibi@caldwell.edu. It combines an online magazine, a collection of What's New in Arts Education, resources for developing curricular activities that link national and state standards, and a Cafe for sharing information, ideas, and problem solving with colleagues.

 

PowerPoint Presentation - Develop 12 Powerpoint slides utilizing animation, clipart, sounds, and other features of the program. This exercise should be used as a vehicle for the presentation of your curriculum developed in the other segments of the course. The assignment should be printed out so three slides appear on each page. Due July 21.

 

Software Evaluation - Preview five pieces of educational software and complete the evaluation distributed in class.  Due July 21.
