Statement of Purpose: This webpage is
intended to answer students' frequently asked questions about certification
in ABA and Caldwell College's ABA programs (Post-Bac
in ABA, MA in ABA, and MA in Special Ed with ABA Track). This site is
maintained by Dr. Ken Reeve and the graduate faculty in ABA. If you have any
questions you would like to have answered, please email me at

If I take coursework in ABA at Caldwell
College and complete it successfully, am I then certified in behavior
analysis?
No. To become certified, a person needs to take certain coursework in
behavior analysis, complete an extensive practicum experience, and take a
rigorous certification exam (see www.bacb.com
for details). The ABA coursework at Caldwell College, however, does fulfill
the coursework requirement to take the exam. |
When I apply to take the Board Certified
Behavior Analyst exam, do I need to show the BACB my course syllabi to prove
that I took courses that cover the relevant content areas?
No. Caldwell's ABA programs have at their core 18 credits that are
BACB-approved. As such, all you need to do is provide the BACB with a
transcript. |
Does Caldwell College provide a practicum
experience to fulfill the experiential requirement to become board
certified?
Although we do not provide the practicum experience at this time, the ABA
faculty will try to help you find a suitable practicum setting. |
If I complete the Post-Baccalaureate ABA
program at Caldwell and then apply to the MA in ABA program, will all 18 of
those Post-Bac credits be counted towards my Masters in ABA?
Yes. |
If I complete the Post-Baccalaureate ABA
program at Caldwell and then apply to the MA in ABA program, do I still
need to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE)?
No. Students who have successfully completed graduate work in the Post-Bac
ABA program do not need to take the GRE. |
Will Caldwell College
ever offer a Ph.D in ABA?
We're working on it! See the
ABA Student resource page for updates. |
|
If Caldwell College
offers the Ph.D in ABA, what will the admissions requirements be?
This is still in the planning stages.
