Final exam

  5/12 at 9:00 a.m.

This is a vigorous schedule, which covers geometry of molecules, bonding and molecular orbital structure, kinetics, equilibrium theory, thermodynamics, acids and bases, and electrochemistry.  It will require that problem solving in lecture be very limited.  I will be available after class and all students who want added problem solving practice should register for and attend Gen Chem. II Calc/Comp (Ch012).

Cuts: Three (3) lecture cuts are permitted without penalty but NO cuts of tests or the exam are permitted.

Standards of Student Evaluation:

There will be four (4) tests all of equal weight; they will be worth 2/3 of the final grade.  There will be a comprehensive final exam worth 1/3 of the final grade.  The dates are as follows:

Final Exam

There will be no retests of tests or the final exam.  If you absent yourself from a test or the final exam, the grade for that test or the exam will be zero.  Absence due to serious illness verified by a medical professional's note, or extreme personal difficulty, verified by appropriate documentation, may be overcome at my discretion and at my convenience with a make-up test.

Any student who has a documented disability and is in need of academic accommodation must contact the Office of Disability Services (973-618-3645) and notify the professor of this course.  Students are required to provide written documentation of their disability in order to be eligible for accommodation.  Accommodations are individualized and in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American with Disabilities Act of 1992.

Academic Integrity

I will enforce vigorously the Academic Integrity Policy of the College.  The College policy is described in the Caldwell College Undergraduate Catalog.  Copies of the Catalog may be reviewed in my office and the Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs.

Briefly, if you are caught cheating you will receive a zero (0) for that test or the exam.  You will not be permitted extra credit work to improve your grade.  Two such offenses result in an "FX" for the course.

All offenses against Academic Integrity will be reported to the Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs and are cumulative within the College.  The College reserves the right to impose more severe penalties.

**Note please:  Cell phones and other electronic communication devices are to be in silent or vibrational mode.  Personal calls are not to be conducted.  In case of a campus-wide emergency notification, interrupt the professor.  The class will respond as directed.
