Rita has been the coordinator of Faculty Development Committee since 1995. She considered the following as continued support for faculty development. 1)Faculty Development Grants funded through Paul's office. 2)Brown Bag Series that include: -computer workshops; -writing workshops; -active learning workshops; -guest spearker, e.g., from New Jersey Project. 3) The Faculty Development Comittee provides mentoring program for new faculty. 4) Committee Newsletter that provides information on internal & external grant available. 5) Faculty development libary that provides resources for faculty. 6) The college has changed from 1 and 1/2 day professiional development to current on-going professional development effort. However, Rita pointed out that support for teaching and research activities outside campus varies across different departments. Some allocate fund specifically for such activities while others do not.
