Welcome! Here you will find course descriptions for the semester courses as well as materials intended to assist those who are studying medieval culture and/or the arts and skills of the English language and its literature with me this semester. Favorite Links offers sites of more personal interest, a few good Celtic sites and the web page for our Caldwell Dominican congregation.
My scholarly interests include the history and structure of the English language, all aspects of medieval culture, and Shakespeare. I am especially interested in fourteenth-century English literature. Currently I am exploring anew the dialogue between mystics and religious poets in fourteenth-century England, and the insights available when their works are studied in the light of of twentieth century literary criticism.
Instructional technology has long been part of my teaching. As the college has added course management software to the campus IT structure, my students and I have used it in each of my courses. The web page changes to supplement what is available through this program. | |||||
